Dr. Kuether is a board certified Neurosurgeon and Director of Neurotrauma at Legacy Emanuel Hospital in Portland, Oregon.
After serving patients through his private practice and other Portland area hospitals and surgery centers for more than 14 years, Dr. Kuether has become known for pioneering new techniques and advancing the field of neurosurgery (as well as sharing his calm and caring bedside manner).
He emphasizes minimally invasive procedures throughout his practice as part of his unwavering commitment to positive clinical outcomes, reduced recovery times, and the optimal health of each and every patient.
Dr. Kuether’s specialties include:

Dr. Kuether received his medical degree from the University of Kansas in 1993 and completed his neurosurgical residency at Oregon Health Sciences University in 2000. He then completed a Fellowship in Neurointerventional Radiology from OHSU’s Dotter Institute where he later served as Assistant Professor.
He also served as Medical Director of Neurointerventional Service at the Providence Brain Institute and Vice-Chairman of Neurosurgery at Legacy Good Samaritan Hospital in Portland.
