The Top Health Trends for 2020

Happy New Year! As we head into a new decade, our team wanted to take a look at the biggest trends predicted to hit healthcare in 2020.

The Rise of AI in Healthcare: The use of artificial intelligence (AI) is steadily growing in healthcare.

Whether it is to help patients manage their health, allow doctors or surgeons to make more accurate diagnosis and treatment plans or simply improve the interoperability of healthcare systems,

AI will become more prevalent in all areas of the industry. As technology advances, Kuether Brain and Spine will continue to consider the functions of AI and determine if it can be implemented in our practice.

Improved Access to Telehealth: With today’s connected world, telehealth services have grown quickly and will likely continue to reach more consumers in 2020.

In fact, 76% of hospitals in the U.S. are already connecting with patients and other practitioners via video, phone and other technologies (AHA Fact Sheet).

Telehealth offers convenience for patients and gives healthcare workers the ability to regularly check in and open the line of communication with patients.

It is likely various forms of telehealth will become integrated in every aspect of the healthcare systems of tomorrow.

More Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery Techniques: Minimally invasive spine surgery (MISS) techniques have the ability to treat a number of conditions.

In one case, MISS helps to stabilize vertebral bones and spinal joints and/or relieve pressure being applied to the spinal nerves.

It is also has a number of benefits such as improved cosmetic results from smaller skin incisions, less chance of blood loss during surgery, reduced risk of muscle damage, reduced risk of infection and postoperative pain, and improved chances of a faster recovery with less rehabilitation.

Due to these benefits, Kuether Brain and Spine will continue to offer and likely expand their MISS offerings to treat spine and back conditions.

We are so looking forward to 2020 and seeing how these trends evolve and influence the medical and healthcare industries.

The team at Kuether Brain and Spine also wanted to take a moment to say thank you for the last 365 days.

We are grateful for all that occurred in 2019 and are looking forward to growing our community of patients in 2020.

We hope you all experience health and happiness.
